Scope

This standard specifies the classification, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, signs, packaging, transportation and storage of marine high-pressure piston air compressors (hereinafter referred to as air compressors). This standard applies to marine high-pressure reciprocating piston air compressors driven by motors or diesel engines with a rated exhaust pressure ranging from 15 to 40 MPa.
