Scope

This standard defines a system management function for application processes to interact in a centralized or decentralized management environment, so as to be used for system management defined in GB/T 9387.4. This International Standard defines a function, which consists of generic definitions, services and functional units. This function belongs to the application layer of the OSI reference model (GB 9387), and is defined according to the model provided by GB/T 17176. The function of system management function is described by GB/T 17142. Alert notifications defined by this function provide information about system operating conditions and quality of service, upon which administrators may need to act.
