Scope

This document gives guidelines for the measurement, evaluation and reporting of habitability vibration for all personnel on board passenger ships and merchant ships, especially crew members. Evaluation values for different regions. This document applies to passenger and merchant ships with an estimated voyage time of 24 hours and above. This document specifies the requirements for measuring instruments and measurement procedures in common functional areas, and also includes analysis specifications and guidelines for vibration evaluation of ship habitability. The evaluation of low-frequency motion of ships that may cause seasickness is specified in ISO2631 1 . See ISO 20283 2 for the content related to the vibration of the overall structure of the ship.
