- Scope
- This part of GB/T 28784 proposes guidelines for the measurement, diagnostic evaluation and reporting of ship structural vibrations caused by propulsion devices, and specifies the corresponding requirements and methods. Structural vibration can be manifested as vibration with overall characteristics or local characteristics. This section mainly involves vibration with overall characteristics. GB/T 7452 deals with local vibration of deck structures from the perspective of habitability. Local vibration mainly depends on its own structural form and rarely causes fatigue damage. Therefore, this standard (all parts) does not propose general guidelines for such vibration measurements. For reference, relevant content on local structural vibration in structural design is provided in Appendix D. This section does not consider the transient vibration of the ship, for example, the vibration caused by slamming. This section does not involve structural vibrations that may be caused by shafting torsional vibrations or crankshaft vibrations. For relevant content, please refer to the classification society rules and Part 4 of this standard.
