GB/T 28784.4-2017 Mechanical vibration—Measurement of vibration on ships—Part 4: Measurement and evaluation of vibration of the ship propulsion machinery (English Version)
This part of GB/T 28784 gives guidance on the instruments, measurements and data processing procedures required to obtain reliable vibration data for ship propulsion systems. This part also gives guidelines for the application of specific measurement techniques, which are commonly used and suitable for the measurement of mechanical vibration of sea-going ships and inland watercraft propulsion devices. These measurement techniques are suitable for diesel engines, steam turbines or electric propulsion equipment and are applied taking into account the specific limitations of each measurement procedure. The procedures specified in this section are applicable to reciprocating mechanical vibration (steady state or quasi-steady state similar to scanning), and the procedures specified in this section are not suitable for measurement and evaluation of transient, fast-changing or shock signals. This part mainly specifies the measurement technique for the mechanical vibration of the main propulsion unit during sea trials. The same or similar measurement principles are also applicable for other purposes, such as performance monitoring, analysis of abnormal vibrations in operation, and condition assessment of repaired components, etc. In these cases, the measurement procedure should be adapted to some specific requirements.
