GB/T 18380.33-2022 Tests on electric and optical fibre cables under fire conditions—Part 33:Test for vertical flame spread of vertically-mounted bunched wires or cables—Category A (English Version)
This document describes a Type A test method for evaluating the ability of vertically installed bundles of wires and cables or optical cables to inhibit the vertical spread of flame under specified conditions. This document is applicable to the total nominal volume of non-metallic materials contained in the cable or optical cable sample section installed on the test steel ladder is 7L/m. The fire supply time is 40 min. Cables and optical cables are installed in front of the steel ladder. For cables with a conductor cross-section greater than 35 mm2, select a standard steel ladder or wide steel ladder according to the number of cable sample sections. For cables and optical cables with a conductor cross-section of 35 mm2 or less, use a standard steel ladder. Class A is used to evaluate the occasions with high volume content of non-metallic materials. This test is used for type approval test. See Appendix A for the selection requirements of test cables and optical cables. Flame spread is determined by the damage extent of the cable and cable samples. This test procedure can be used to verify the ability of electrical and optical cables to suppress the spread of flame. Recommended performance requirements are given in Appendix B. Note: The term "wire and cable" in this document includes all metal conductor insulated cables used for power or signal transmission.
