This part of GB/T 33488 specifies the general requirements, parameter settings, testing procedures and testing reports of ultrasonic testing methods for plastic welding pressure equipment used in chemical industry. This section applies to polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP), polyvinyl chloride (PVC), acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene plastic (ABS), polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) and modified polytetrafluoroethylene Ultrasonic testing of pressure vessels and pressure pipe welding joints welded by hot air welding, extrusion welding, heat fusion welding and electric fusion welding of thermoplastic pipes or plates such as fluoroethylene (PTFE).
