Scope
This standard specifies the test methods and acceptance criteria for testing the performance of ultrasonic testing combination equipment (also known as ultrasonic testing systems) using suitable standard calibration test blocks. This section applies to ultrasonic testing combination equipment used in field or workshop conditions. The method described in this section is only applicable to A-scan display, with a gain controller or a calibrated attenuator with a step not greater than 2dB, and pulse-echo ultrasonic testing combination equipment that mainly uses the contact method for detection. These methods are designed for manual detection of devices. For automatic detection equipment, different detection methods are required to ensure its working performance. This section does not apply to dedicated combined ultrasonic thickness gauges.
