This standard specifies the general technical requirements, testing methods and judgment criteria for testing suspension insulators used in AC and DC power systems during installation and operation. This standard applies to disc-shaped suspended porcelain, glass insulators and rod-shaped suspended composite insulators (hereinafter referred to as insulators) for AC and DC overhead power lines, power plants, substations and converter stations with a nominal voltage higher than 1000V.
