Scope
This document specifies basic requirements for a laboratory procedure for testing vibration transmission through a vehicle seat to the occupant. These measurement and analysis methods make it possible to compare the test results of similar seats determined by different laboratories. It specifies the test procedure, the requirements for the measuring devices, the procedure for assessing the measurement results and the way in which the test results are to be documented. This document applies to the development of specific laboratory test procedures to evaluate vibration transmission to occupants for all types of seats in vehicles and mobile work machines. Machine-specific standards for individual vehicle types refer to this document when determining the characteristic test excitation vibration of the vehicle or machine type or group for which the seat is intended for use. NOTE Examples of machine-specific standards are given in the literature references.
