Scope

This standard specifies one of the general test methods for the determination of pigment sieve residue by mechanical washing method. This method is applicable to pigments or extender pigments dispersed in water, and other powders or granules that are insoluble in water. It is not applicable to pigments and extender pigments that are difficult to wet with water or granulated into balls. Note: When this general method is applicable to a specified pigment or pigment extender, it is only necessary to include the terms referring to this method in the product standard of the pigment or pigment extender, and indicate the changes required due to the characteristics of the product. A specific method for the determination of sieve residues should only be specified if this general method is not applicable to a particular product.
