This standard specifies a general test method for comparing the decolorization ability of white pigments with agreed pigments of the same type. Two methods (A and B) are described in the standard. Method A is faster than method B and is suitable for the test of a single pigment sample; for the test of multiple samples, method B is better, especially for pigment samples with unknown decolorizing power. Note: When this general method is applicable to a specified pigment, the method should be indicated in the product standard for that pigment, and any detailed changes required due to the characteristics of the pigment should be noted. A specific method is prescribed for comparing the decolorizing power of white pigments only when this general method is not applicable to a particular pigment.
