This standard specifies the requirements and recommended practices for steel structures used in drilling and workover operations in the petroleum industry. It provides a uniform verification method for steel structures and two Product Specification Levels (PSL). This standard applies to all new steel derricks, derricks (including guyline derricks and workover derricks), substructures, and crown block assemblies manufactured after the effective date.
