- The purpose of this standard is to provide guidelines and recommended levels of inspection, maintenance and repair of drilling and workover derricks and substructures in order to maintain the operational reliability of these equipment. These recommended practices should be considered to supplement, but not to replace, the manufacturer's instructions for use and the latest version of API RP 54.
