Scope: This standard specifies requirements and recommended practices for structural steel components used in drilling and workover operations in the petroleum industry, provides a uniform method for determining structural design ratings, and gives two product specification classes. This standard applies to all newly designed standard steel derricks, special derricks, portable derricks, crown blocks and foundations. Appendix A is the supplementary requirements, which are applicable only when the purchaser specifies it in the contract.
