GB/T 17213.18-2015
Scope
This part of GB/T 17213 determines the test and report on the step response of control valves that play a regulating role in a closed-loop control environment. The control valve consists of a complete, ready-to-use control valve body assembly, actuator and necessary accessories. The most common accessory is the valve positioner. The purpose of this section is to determine how to test, measure and report the response characteristics of control valves in an open-loop environment, and to judge the response speed and accuracy of control valves in process control environments to valve input signals. This standard does not determine the acceptability of control valve performance in process control, nor does it limit the choice of control valves in any application. If this standard is used for evaluation or acceptance testing, the parties may agree to record changes in accordance with this requirement. This section may also be applicable to some open-loop control applications, but the basis of the test methods in this section is specifically for closed-loop feedback control loops. This section does not involve control valves with switching functions. The tests specified in this standard may not be sufficient to measure the performance required in all application environments. Not all applications of control valves require this test.
