Scope
This standard applies to personal dose equivalent instruments with the following characteristics: a) worn on the human trunk or limbs; b) measuring the personal dose equivalent Hp(10 ) and Hp(0.07), and can measure personal dose equivalent rate?p(10) and?p(0.07); c) has a digital display; d) can have a personal Dose equivalent or personal dose equivalent rate alarm function. Therefore, this standard applies to the measurement of the following doses (including respective dose rates) and radiation combinations: 1) Hp(10) and Hp(0.07) produced by X and gamma radiation ; 2) Hp(10) and Hp(0.07) produced by X, γ and β radiation; 3) Hp(10) produced by X and γ radiation ; 4) Hp(10) produced by neutron radiation; 5) Hp(10) produced by X, γ and neutron radiation; 6) produced by X, γ and β radiation The resulting Hp(0.07). This standard specifies requirements for dosimeters and their associated readout systems, if provided. This standard specifies the general characteristics, general test methods, radiation characteristics and electrical, mechanical, safety and environmental characteristics of the above-mentioned dosimeters. Requirements affecting the accuracy of individual dose equivalent readouts and alarm settings and those involving the effect of the readout device on the dosimeter are specified only for the relevant readout system. This standard also stipulates the use classification of instruments according to different measurement capabilities in Appendix C. This standard does not include special requirements for accident or emergency dosimetry, although dosimeters may be used for this purpose. This standard does not apply to dosimeters for measuring pulsed radiation (for example: radiation produced by most medical X-ray diagnostic equipment, linear accelerators or similar equipment).
