Scope

This standard specifies the limit value of fuel consumption of passenger cars. This standard applies to vehicles of category M₁ that can burn gasoline or diesel fuel and whose maximum design gross mass does not exceed 3500 kg. This standard does not apply to vehicles that only use gaseous fuels or alcohol-ether fuels.
