- This standard specifies the limit value of fuel consumption of passenger cars. This standard applies to category M1 vehicles powered by ignition engines or compression ignition engines, with a maximum design speed greater than or equal to 50km/h and a maximum design total mass of no more than 3500kg. This standard does not apply to vehicles that only burn gaseous fuel or alcohol fuel.
