Scope

This section specifies the minimum requirements for the design, manufacture, materials, performance, acceptance testing and quality assurance of dampers. This section applies to the design, manufacture and testing of dampers related to nuclear safety in ventilation, air conditioning and air purification systems of nuclear facilities. Non-nuclear safety-related dampers in nuclear facility ventilation, air conditioning and air purification systems may also be implemented with reference to this section. This section does not apply to fire (smoke) valves:
