Scope: 1.1 This part of GB/T 13454 specifies the character group system for naming powdered melamine-formaldehyde molding compounds (MF-PMCs). 1.2 Each type of MF-PMCs is classified according to the name of the filling/reinforcing material and its content, the intended processing method, special properties and information on characteristic properties (designated properties) specially used for naming. 1.3 This section applies to all MF-PMCs in powder, granular or ground form. 1.4 Materials with the same name do not necessarily have the same performance, this part does not provide engineering data, performance data or molding condition data required for some special purposes and/or special molding methods. If these additional properties are required, they shall be determined according to the test methods specified in ISO 14528-2:1999. 1.5 When it is necessary to expressly comply with the general data requirements listed in ISO 14528-3:1999, this character set system is also required.
