Scope

This part of GB/T 1844 specifies the abbreviations used for the basic polymers in plastics, the symbols that make up these terms, the symbols used for the characteristic properties of plastics, and the symbols used for the characteristic properties of plastics. This section includes only those abbreviations for which use has been identified, and serves only two purposes, to prevent multiple abbreviations for a given plastic and to prevent multiple interpretations of a given abbreviation.
