Scope
This standard applies to fixed dose rate meters, alarm devices and monitors that are used to prevent or mitigate radioactive releases or fuel degradation to keep them within the design basis of nuclear power plants (NPP)/nuclear facilities (NF), And during or after the occurrence of nuclear power plants/nuclear facilities or events that lead to radioactive releases or personnel are exposed to radiation hazards, warn personnel to ensure their safety. According to IEC 61226:2009, equipment is classified as Class "A", "B", "C" or "No Class". The equipment involved in this standard is used for isotropic measurement of air kerma energy, ambient dose equivalent or other exposures produced by X or 7 radiation in the energy range of 50 keV~7 MeV. Equipment is primarily used for radiation protection purposes and may play an auxiliary or indirect role in achieving or maintaining the safety of nuclear power plants. Within the range specified in this standard, the limited energy range measured by the instrument covers at least 80 keV~1.5 MeV. Such devices are generally specified as area radiation monitors. Usually these devices are used for the continuous determination of the radioactive situation in work areas where the radiation field may vary over time (e.g. nuclear power plants, particle accelerators, highly radioactive laboratories, nuclear fuel reprocessing plants) and where the radiation field exceeds predetermined limits. Provides an alarm when available. These devices are also used in safety-related protection systems, for example, access control systems that allow access to areas that may be exposed to radiation fields. This standard also gives guidance for equipment used in pulsed radiation fields, for example, to measure radiation produced by pulsed radiation or particle accelerators. This guidance is important because most of the equipment specified in this standard may give erroneous readings when operating in pulsed radiation fields. The devices involved in this standard include at least: - detectors (for example, ionization chambers, Geiger-Miller counters, scintillation counters, semiconductors) devices; - measuring devices can be installed on the central control panel, and alarm devices and The monitor provides an output signal and can trigger the contacts of the alarm or emergency shutdown/interlock circuit to achieve the purpose of radiation protection. This standard also applies to special
