This standard specifies the technical requirements, test methods and inspection rules for fixed X and r radiation dose rate meters, alarm devices and monitors for radiation protection. This standard is applicable to fixed X and r radiation dose rate meters, alarm devices and monitors used for site monitoring in the field of radiation protection. This type of instruments can measure kerma rate, or surrounding dose equivalent rate, or absorbed dose rate. or exposure rate. This standard gives the same radiation specific requirements values when measuring these radiation quantities, but it is agreed that the corresponding radiation quantities must be used for the true values. The energy range of X and r is 50KeV~8MwV. For instruments that cannot reach the energy range, at least 80keV ~ 1.5MwV should be achieved. This standard also applies to fixed X, r radiation dose rate meters, alarm devices and monitors designed for some special applications (such as very high radiation dose rates). Such devices can make necessary modifications and supplements to certain requirements according to the principles stipulated in this standard. This standard does not apply to the control instruments of anti-hydraulic reactors and the monitoring instruments of criticality accidents.
