This chapter of GB 2099.1-2008 applies after making the following modifications. Replace the first paragraph with: This part specifies the technical requirements for terminals and ends, structural requirements, mechanical properties and electrical properties of household and similar appliance sockets. This part applies only to socket-outlets with alternating current, rated voltage not exceeding 250V, rated current not exceeding 16A, with or without grounding socket, built-in or intended to be installed in or fixed to appliances, hereinafter referred to as appliance socket-outlets. Added after the fourth paragraph: If it is also intended for fixed installations, the appliance socket shall be equipped with means for fixing to a suitable installation box. Appliance sockets are intended for use in standing appliances and appliances such as office equipment, computers, audio-visual camera equipment, range hoods, stoves, etc. If necessary, the use of appliance sockets is described in the relevant appliance or equipment standard. The ambient temperature around the appliance socket usually does not exceed 35°C, occasionally reaching 40°C.
