Scope

This standard specifies the ultrasonic testing method for carbon steel and low alloy steel castings with a thickness equal to or greater than 30 mm; and the method for grading the quality of castings based on the results of ultrasonic testing. The ultrasonic flaw detection method used is limited to Type A display pulse-echo method.
