This part of GB/T 7233 specifies the terms and definitions, general requirements and methods for detecting internal defects using pulse reflection technology for ultrasonic testing of high pressure steel castings (non-austenitic). This part is applicable to ultrasonic testing of high pressure steel castings (non-austenitic) after heat treatment for grain refinement and steel castings with a thickness not exceeding 600mm. For steel castings with a thickness greater than 600mm, there should be an agreement specifying the testing methods and recording limits. Not partly not applicable to austenitic steels.
