Scope
This standard specifies that residual current electrical appliances include the function of detecting residual current, comparing the residual current value with the residual operating current value, and disconnecting the protected circuit when the residual current exceeds this value. The maximum rated residual current is 30mA. For SRCDs whose rated voltage does not exceed AC 250V, the maximum rated current is 16A; for SRCDs whose rated voltage does not exceed AC 130V, the maximum rated current is 20A. This standard applies to residual current operated devices (SRCD: Socket Residual Current Devices) which are incorporated into or used exclusively with two-stage socket-outlets with or without earthing contacts for household and similar purposes. SRCDs complying with this standard are powered by phase-to-neutral, phase-to-phase, or phase-to-neutral grounded conductors. SRCD is only used to provide additional protection to its outlet. SRCDs are intended to be used in circuits whose predecessors have ensured fault protection (protection against indirect contact). SRCD can neither provide isolation nor be used in IT systems. SRCDs should not be used in distribution boards, they are not intended to protect a complete distribution circuit or a complete terminal circuit. These products are expected to be installed in an installation box that complies with GB 17466.1; or a cable duct system that complies with GB/T 19215.1; or a power supply piping system that complies with IEC 61534; or an installation box that is close to the socket box and meets one of the above standards. These products are not intended to be used in enclosures complying with GB 17466.24 or GB 7251 series. The scope of this standard covers RCDs for household and similar purposes, which are included in GB 16916 or GB 16917. SRCDs powered by batteries, or by circuits other than the load, are not covered by this standard. This standard also applies to SRCDs with overload or overcurrent protection. This standard also applies to wiring assemblies assembled with residual current devices, which are only used to provide protection for a single fixed electrical device (eg hand dryer, water cooler, etc.) adjacent to the wiring assembly. The technical requirements of this standard apply to normal temperature and environmental conditions. SRCDs used in more severe environmental conditions may require supplementary technical requirements. The socket part of SRCD complies with the requirements of GB 2099.1-2008.
