Scope: This standard specifies the technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking and quality certificates for gray iron castings of metal cutting machine tools. This standard is applicable to various castings cast in sand molds with thermal conductivity equivalent to that of sand molds. For machine tool guide rail castings made of wear-resistant cast iron, in addition to being inspected according to the special acceptance items specified in the relevant machine tool guide rail wear-resistant cast iron technical conditions, they should also comply with the provisions of this standard. Gray cast iron parts of combined machine tools and special processing machine tools should also be used with reference.
