- Scope
- This standard specifies the dimensional tolerance grades of castings and the required machining allowance grades. This standard applies to the dimensions of castings of various metals and their alloys produced by various casting methods. This standard applies not only to the general tolerances and/or machining allowances given on the drawing, but also to the individual tolerances and/or machining allowances marked after the specific dimensions. This tolerance system is used in occasions where the foundry manufacturer provides the pattern or metal mold equipment, or undertakes the inspection responsibility of the pattern or metal mold equipment.
