- This standard specifies the cast iron grades, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules and quality certificates for gray iron castings of metal cutting machine tools. This standard applies to various castings cast in sand molds or in molds with thermal conductivity comparable to sand molds. For machine tool guide rail castings using wear-resistant castings, in addition to being inspected according to the special acceptance items specified in the technical conditions for wear-resistant iron castings for machine tool guide rails, they should also comply with the provisions of this standard. Gray cast iron parts of combined machine tools and special processing machine tools should also be used with reference.
