This standard specifies the test methods, analysis and conversion of test results, performance tolerances and test reports during factory tests of water ring vacuum pumps and water ring compressors (collectively referred to as pumps without distinction). This standard is applicable to tests of pumps of any size using water as the working fluid and ambient air as the working medium. This standard applies both to the pump itself without any piping accessories and to pump assemblies connected to all or part of the upstream and/or downstream piping accessories. It can also be used as a reference when other liquids other than water are used as working fluids for testing.
