Scope
This standard specifies the overvoltage and overcurrent protection requirements for user antenna devices, including lightning protection requirements for communication antenna systems and power line contact protection requirements. This standard applies to user antenna devices installed on buildings and user antenna devices installed on antenna poles at a maximum distance of about 10 meters from the building, and the antenna installed is used to provide communication services to the building. This standard does not apply to buildings with explosion risks and hospital premises with life-saving facilities, or buildings where failure of internal systems could cause life-threatening consequences. This standard also does not apply to buildings where wireless communication base stations are installed.
