Scope

This standard specifies the terms and definitions, types and basic parameters, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, signs and instructions for use, as well as packaging, transportation and storage of manually controlled large-scale steam sterilizers. This standard applies to bottom-exhaust, manually controlled steam sterilizers (hereinafter referred to as sterilizers) with a rated working pressure below 0.25 MPa and a volume greater than 60 L. This standard does not apply to automatically controlled large-scale steam sterilizers, nor to vacuum sterilizers.
