This chapter of GB 4706.1 is applicable except for the following: This part applies to the safety of instant water heaters for household and similar purposes and intended to heat water to a temperature below the boiling point. The rated voltage of single-phase appliances does not exceed 250V. Other The rated voltage of the appliance does not exceed 480V. Appliances which are not intended for general household use but which nevertheless may pose a hazard to the public, such as appliances intended for use by non-professional persons in shops, light industry and on farms, are also within the scope of this standard. As a practical matter, the appliances covered by this standard present common hazards which all persons may encounter in the home and its surroundings. In general, however, this standard does not address: -- the dangers of unattended young children and disabled persons using appliances; -- the situation of young children playing with appliances.
