Scope
This chapter in GB 4706.1-2005 is replaced by the following content: This part specifies the safety of integral kitchen appliances for household and similar purposes. This part applies to the special requirements for integrated kitchen appliances installed and used in the kitchen, with the rated voltage of single-phase appliances not exceeding 250V and the rated voltage of other appliances not exceeding 480V. Appliances not intended for general household use, but which may nonetheless pose a danger to the public, such as appliances intended to be used by non-professionals in shops, light industry and on farms, also fall within the scope of this standard. This section considers the possible interaction of individual appliances in the overall kitchen appliance after combination. The appliances covered by this standard present general hazards to which all persons may be exposed in the dwelling and in the surrounding environment of the dwelling. In general, however, this standard does not deal with: - the dangers of unattended young children and disabled persons using appliances; - the situation of young children playing with appliances. This standard does not apply to: - appliances consisting of portable appliances, hand-held appliances; - appliances designed for industrial use.
