GB 4793.5-2008 Safety requirements for electrical equipment for measurement, control, and laboratory use.Part 5: Safety requirements for hand-held probe assemblies for electrical measurement and test (English Version)
This part of GB 4793 applies to the following types of hand-held and hand-operated probe assemblies, as well as related accessories for professional use, industrial process use, and educational use. These probe assemblies are used as an interface between an electrical phenomenon and test or measurement equipment. They can be fixedly mounted on the device or they can be a detachable accessory to the device. a) Low-voltage and high-voltage non-attenuating probe assemblies (type A): The rated voltage value directly connected to the non-attenuating probe assembly is higher than the effective value of AC 33V, peak value of 46.7V or DC 70V, but not exceeding 63kV. They contain no active components, voltage dividers, or signal conditioning, but may include passive, non-attenuating components such as fuses. b) High-voltage attenuation or voltage-dividing probe assembly (Type B): The rated value of the secondary voltage directly connected to the attenuation or voltage-dividing probe assembly is higher than 1kv but not exceeding 63kV. The voltage dividing function may be implemented entirely within the probe assembly, or partially within the test or measurement equipment used with the probe assembly. c) Low-voltage attenuating or dividing probe assemblies (Type C): Attenuating, dividing or other signal conditioning probe assemblies directly connected to a voltage rating greater than 33V ac, rms, 46.7V peak, or 70V dc, but not exceeding 1kV AC RMS or 1.5kV DC value. Signal conditioning functions may be implemented entirely within the probe assembly, or partially within the test or measurement equipment used with the probe assembly.
