Scope

The cable switchboards (SCDBs) and cable distribution boxes (CDCs) of power distribution substations in the public grid shall meet the requirements of GB 7251.1-2005 and shall comply with the special requirements of this part. This standard gives supplementary requirements for substation cable distribution boards (SCDBs) and cable distribution boxes (CDCs), which are type-tested assemblies (TTA) for fixed installation, and are used for power distribution in three-phase systems. This section does not include open-type assemblies. Individual components complying with other standards, such as fuses and switching devices, also comply with the requirements of this standard. This part specifies the definition, working conditions, structural requirements, technical performance and test requirements of substation cable switchboards and cable junction boxes. Higher performance and testing levels may be required for special grids, eg ring network connections. Substation cable switchboards are suitable for installation in places where only professionals can enter, and outdoor substation cable switchboards are installed in places accessible to the public. The substation cable switchboard is connected to the low-voltage end of the distribution transformer by connecting wires, bus bars or cables. Outdoor cable distribution boxes installed in places where the public can enter, and only professionals can access them when they are in use.
