This chapter of GB 4706.1-1998 is replaced by the following content: This part of GB 4706 refers to sauna heating appliances whose rated input power does not exceed 20kw, the rated voltage of single-phase appliances does not exceed 250V, and the rated voltage of other appliances does not exceed 480V safety. Note 1: Sauna heating appliances can be heat storage type. Note 2: A sauna heating appliance may consist of more than one sauna heater, as long as these heaters are intended to be installed adjacent to each other and controlled by a common controller and protective device. As a practical matter, this standard deals with the common hazards presented by appliances to all persons in and around the dwelling. This standard generally does not consider: - the use of appliances by unattended young children and disabled persons; - the situation of young children playing with appliances. Note 3: Note the following: - For appliances intended to be used on vehicles, ships or aircraft, some additional requirements may be required. a—For appliances intended for use in tropical countries, special requirements may be required. - In many countries, additional requirements are laid down by national health care departments, departments responsible for labor protection and similar departments. Note 4: This standard does not apply to: - appliances intended for use in special locations, such as locations where corrosive and explosive gases (dust, steam or gas) are present. - appliances intended to induce perspiration on only part of the human body; - sweat baths in which the user's head is kept outside the heating zone; - tents and other collapsible saunas.
