This chapter in GB 4706.1-1998 is replaced by the following content: This part of GB 4706 deals with the safety of commercial electric food processing machinery not intended for household use. The rated voltage does not exceed 250 V for single-phase appliances connected to a phase and neutral conductor, and 480 V for other appliances. Note 1: Examples of food processing machinery: - mixer; - liquid or food mixer; - push plate mixer; - dough mixer; - egg beater; - chopper; - food wiper - grinders; - meat grinders; - slicers; - peelers; - can openers; - coffee grinders; - food washing and/or drying machines; - dosing machines; - pasta dough rollers; — pasta cutters; — food processors. Note 2: Such appliances are used, for example, in restaurants, food stores, hospital kitchens and commercial enterprises such as bakeries and butchers. This standard also applies to appliances supplied in several parts (assemblies) for ease of transport. When these appliances are assembled at the installation site, they do not require any additional parts to form a complete unit. The electrical parts of appliances using other forms of energy are also within the scope of this standard. This section deals with the common hazards posed by such appliances from a practical point of view. Note 3: Attention should be paid to the following: - for appliances intended exclusively for use on board vehicles, ships or aircraft, necessary additional requirements are allowed; - for appliances intended exclusively for use in tropical countries, necessary additional requirements are allowed Special requirements; - in many countries additional requirements imposed by national health, labor protection, water supply and other similar authorities should also be considered. This standard does not apply to: - appliances designed for industrial use; - appliances intended for frequent special conditions, such as the presence of corrosive or explosive atmospheres (dust, steam or combustible gas); assembly line equipment for the mass production of food; - separate conveying equipment, such as food distribution belt conveyors.
