Scope: This section applies to the interface between low-voltage switchgear and controlgear switching elements and controllers (such as programmable controllers, personal computers, etc.). This standard specifies a bit-oriented interface system between a single control circuit device and a switching element connected to an unshielded, non-twisted pair two-wire cable and carrying data and power. This standard establishes an interchangeability system for components with this interface. The purpose of this part is to specify the following interface requirements: ——Interface requirements between slave stations, master stations and electromechanical equipment; ——Normal service conditions for slave stations, electromechanical equipment and master stations; ——Structure and performance requirements; —— Tests to verify compliance with various requirements.
