Scope
This standard applies to the design and manufacture of electrical devices and equipment on rolling stock to protect relevant personnel from electric shock. Its requirements vary according to different operations and steps. This standard applies to vehicles in the railway transport system, externally powered road vehicles (trams), maglev vehicles and equipment on the vehicles. This standard does not apply to: ——Mining railways in underground mines; ——Railway hoisting devices, mobile platforms and similar transport systems; ——Ropeways; ——Temporary facilities. The vehicle is tested according to the requirements of the standard, see IEC 61133.
