- This International Standard applies to line voltages of traction systems under normal operating conditions.
It is concerned with the mean value of d.c. voltage or the r.m.s value of the fundamental (1
harmonic) a.c. voltage. NOTE Specifications in other international documents referring to "the maximum voltage value specified in IEC 60850" have to be interpreted as referring to Umaxt until such time as these documents have determined the appropriate definition of maximum voltage following the publication of IEC 60850. For urban transit networks in France which complied with the relevant national standard prior to the publication of this standard, this former standard may be applied to partial renewals of equipment for those networks insofar as mixing is demonstrable, till 2011-03-01.
