This chapter in GB 14536.1-1998 is applicable except for the following content. Replaces: This standard applies to electric automatic humidity-sensitive controls for use in or in conjunction with household and similar appliances, including controls for heating, air conditioning and similar uses. The energy used by these devices can be electricity, gas, liquid, solid fuel, solar energy, etc. or a combination thereof. This standard applies to the inherent safety of controllers and operating values, operating times and operating procedures related to equipment safety. It is also applicable to the test of electric automatic controllers used in household and similar equipment or used in conjunction with these equipment. This standard does not apply to electric automatic controls specially designed for industrial use. This standard also applies to a single controller that is part of the control system or a controller that is mechanically combined with a multi-function controller with non-electrical output. This standard is applicable to electric automatic controllers of NTC (negative temperature coefficient) or PTC (positive temperature coefficient) thermistors. For additional requirements, see Appendix J in GB14536.1-1998. Electric automatic controls for equipment not intended for general household use but which may be used in public places, e.g. for non-professional use in shops, light industrial factories and farms, are also within the scope of this standard. This standard also applies to controllers used in appliances within the scope of GB 4706.1. NOTE: The term "equipment" used in this standard includes "appliances and control systems". This standard applies to manual controls that are electrically and/or mechanically combined with automatic controls. Note: See GB15092.1 for requirements on manual switches that do not form part of the automatic controller. Replacement: This standard applies to controllers with a rated voltage not exceeding 440V1] for DC, not exceeding 660V for AC, and a rated current not exceeding 63A. Replacement: If the response value of the automatic action of the controller depends on the installation method of the controller in the equipment, this standard does not take this response value into account. If the response value is significant for the protection of the user or the surrounding environment, the response value specified by the corresponding household equipment standard or specified by the manufacturer shall be used. Replacement: This standard also applies to controllers equipped with electronic devices. The requirements for such controllers are given in Appendix H.
