Scope

This standard applies to related two-piece connectors for printed boards. This group of connectors ranges from low voltage connectors with high contact density (variety B and C) to high current and high voltage connectors with fewer contacts (variety D, E, F, G and H). This standard also applies to Type M two-piece connectors. This variety has 2, 4 or 6 holes with different types of special contacts, such as coaxial, high-voltage or high-current contacts (see Appendix B), and the remaining 78, 60 or 42 holes are equipped with the same type C The same contacts as the connector. This standard also applies to two-piece connectors of varieties Q, R, S, T, U and V, in which the male contact is mounted on a fixed board-mounted connector and the female contact is mounted on a free board-mounted connector. All connectors have the same installation characteristics regardless of their different usage characteristics. The terminal of the part of the connector installed on the printed board shall be suitable for the printed board specified by IEC326-3 and conform to the 2.54mm (0.1in) grid specified by IEC97. Free board mount connectors have solder or flat quick connect ends, fixed board mount connectors have solder, insulation displacement connection, wrap around, threaded ends and flat quick connect ends. The terminal arrangement of the fixed board-mounted connector shall be suitable for the mother board conforming to the 2.54mm (0.1in) grid specified by IEC97, and shall be suitable for automatic wiring technology.
