This International Standard specifies a number of select attribute sets and object classes that are extremely useful in directory applications. The definition of the attribute set includes: identifying the included attributes and simplifying the definition of the object class. The definition of an object class includes: optionally assigning an object identifier to the object, and giving a list of attribute types related to this type of object. Utilities manage directory information by using these definitions. Any utility can define its own object classes and subclasses as needed. NOTE 1 These definitions may or may not use the notation defined in Recommendation GB/T 16264.2. 2 It is recommended that prior to generating a new object class or subclass, the object classes or subclasses defined in this document should be given preference whenever their semantics apply. Utilities may support some or all of the object classes selected in this document, and may add others. All included utilities should support the directory's own object classes (ie, the "top", "alias" and "DSA" object classes).
