- 1.1 This document specifies the process and technical requirements required for software development of programmable electronic systems used in rail traffic control and protection applications. It applies to any domain that has implicit security. These systems may be implemented using special purpose microprocessors, programmable logic controllers, distributed multiprocessor systems, massively centralized processor systems, or other architectures. 1.2 This document applies only to the software and its interaction with the system on which it resides.
