Scope

This standard specifies the technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, packaging, marking, storage, transportation and safety requirements of industrial acrylonitrile. This standard applies to acrylonitrile produced by propylene ammoxidation. The product is mainly used as a raw material for synthetic fibers, plastics, cyanide-containing rubber, acrylic resins, coatings, adhesives and pharmaceuticals. Simplified structural formula: CH₂2=CH-CN Molecular formula: C3H3N Relative molecular mass: 53.06 (according to the international relative atomic mass in 1991)
