Optical amplifiers test methods—Part 3： Noise figure parameters for single-channel amplifiers (English Version)

Scope: This part of GB/T 16850 specifies the measurement methods for the noise parameters of single-channel optical amplifiers (OA) by spectrum analyzers and electric spectrum analyzers, and the measurement methods for the signal to total amplified spontaneous emission (ASE) power ratio (Sig_ASE) , determined the unified requirements for accurate and reliable measurement of OA noise parameters. This section applies to single-channel OA, including the measurement of noise parameters based on rare earth element doping or optically pumped fiber amplifiers based on the Raman effect, semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA) modules and planar optical waveguide amplifiers.
