- Scope
- This International Standard contains general instructions for the professional production of metallic, metal-ceramic, oxide-ceramic and plastic coatings by thermal spraying onto metallic and non-metallic base materials. The International Standard provides recommendations for suitable and practical application, flawless manufacturing, monitoring, quality assurance and non-destructive and destructive testing of the component and accompanying samples. It describes details of possible adverse effects that may occur. It provides information on how to prevent such effects. Permissible stress on the coating and quality assessment groups are not the subject of this International Standard, as they depend on the operating conditions. This International Standard may be used for contractual purposes.
